Help me understand why my wife said this?

Last year she had an extended flirtation with a co-worker that I found out about through her colleagues. They told me. She also was involved in flirting with various men she came across, sort of one-time things. Around this time she regularly started getting down on me, insults, "jokes" and so on to put me down. We worked on things a lot and I was usually the one who wanted to talk things over. We did get better and she has stopped insulting me and we have incidentally moved away from her old job. It has all been going well but we were watching a movie and the subject of adultery was in it (it had Liam Neeson as some sort of professor who his wife thinks is cheating). My wife said that some spouses get away with a lot and their partner just puts up with it. I said, "you mean like I let you get away with?" She just laughed and said yes. I was willing to work on things all along because she said that she was sorry, it was all a mistake, other guys mean nothing to her and so on. I admit I am a husband who will put up with a lot to protect his marriage. But now I feel like she put one over on me. Advice?
