Will leaking radiator eventually stop now thermostat is closed?

one of my central heating rads has developed a leak, i have turned it of at the thermostat on it, will this prevent more water from the entire system draining thru it? effectively once the existing water in that particular rad. has drained thru the leaking part will the rad stop leaking as long as i keep it in the off position? incidentally the heating system is a sealed system.
